Welcome to Gainsborough Foundation

The UK's Leading Alcohol Recovery Service

Gainsborough Foundation delivers an innovative recovery and support service in Huntingdonshire for people whose lives are affected by alcohol misuse.

Treatment is tailored to the specific needs of the individual. Gainsborough has a comprehensive recovery programme for both those who have already become addicted, and a preventative programme for those who want to address their consumption and stop themselves from becoming dependent drinkers.

A GP has described the Gainsborough recovery programme as ‘the alcohol treatment field's

version of the discovery of penicillin’, another ‘that Gainsborough has probably saved more lives than most GPs’, a third ‘Gainsborough is amongst the most successful alcohol treatment programmes ever seen in the western hemisphere’ and a fourth ‘that Gainsborough is a service, the like of which I have never before encountered in 30 years of medicine’.
